Settings reference

General

• Language — 16 languages. A change takes effect at once.
• Appearance — a dark or a light palette, plus a high-contrast option.
• Font size — small, medium, large or extra large.
• Reduce motion — turns off the entrance animations.
• Start with sidebar expanded — how the window looks when it opens.

Scan limits

• Ignore files smaller than — in the Scan setup window, not here: ignore anything smaller. Raising this is the single quickest way to shorten a scan, because thumbnails and icons stop being considered.
• Ignore files larger than — also in the Scan setup window: ignore anything larger.
• Max files per scan — a ceiling on how many files one scan will take on.

Performance

Deduplo measures your machine and chooses these for you. Change them only if you have a reason.

• CPU cores — how many files are examined at once.
• Thumbnail threads and Thumbnail cache cap (MB) — how quickly the results list draws.

Deleting

• Confirm removal — where removed files go is chosen there each time, not in Settings.
• Always show confirmation dialog before deleting
• Create ZIP backup before bulk delete
• Warn when deleting from cloud-sync folders

Default detection

What a new scan starts with — match strength, which detections are on, and whether the AI pass that finds crops and heavily edited copies runs inside every scan (it does, unless you switch it off here). Handy if you always work the same way and do not want to set it up each time.

Cached data

Deduplo keeps what it learned about your files, plus thumbnails, in your user folder. From here you can see how much space that uses and clear it:

• Clear thumbnail cache — safe; they rebuild as needed.
• Clear hash cache — the next scan will read everything again.
• Clear ALL cached data — both, plus saved preferences.

Export and import settings

Settings can be written to a file and loaded on another machine, so a setup you like does not have to be rebuilt by hand.
